The Lions entered Week 2 of the NFL season riding high. The team had upset the Chiefs in Week 1 of the NFL season, earning one of its biggest wins in recent memory and sending a me sage that Detroit was not to be taken lightly in 2023.However, the Lions were able to turn their early-season win into a winning streak. They failed to build on the momentum they built against the Chiefs, losing a shootout against the Seahawks for the second consecutive season.Detroit showed well in some aspects of the 37-31 defeat and actually outgained Seattle418 to393 in it. They also averaged a solid6.5 yards per play and committed five fewer penalties than the Seahawks.The Lions' performance will leave many NFL fans wondering exactly how they lost a game in which they played well. Per usual, that boils down to a few key factors that tend to swing most NFL contests: turnovers, clock management and officiating.MORE: The primary i sue for the Lions against the Seahawks was that they turned the ball over far too frequently to earn a victory. Campbell decided that distance was too far to go for it and the team opted to let Riley Patterson kick the game-tying 39-yard field goal, which he made."I felt like our chances were really good and overtime," Campbell said of the decision. "It didn't work out"Indeed, the Lions lost the coin to s in overtime and were unable to stop the Seahawks during their game-winning touchdown drive.
